I’m a research and software engineer specializing in machine learning and artificial intelligence. My passion is tech transfer: figuring out how to bring cutting edge research from academia into real-world, enterprise applications.
I started my career in academia, receiving my PhD from Drexel University under the mentorship of Ko Nishino. We published some cool papers before deep learning came and tool over everything.
After academia, I I got bit by the startup bug and worked for Curalate where I got to build cool apps. I still have a passion for startups since they let me rapidly switch roles including scientific researcher, software engineer, and data scientist.
Currently, I work at Bazaarvoice leading their efforts to democratize AI across their product development organization. At Bazaarvoice I've built a full MLOps platform and spoke at different conferences about our work.
Prior to Curalate, I received my PhD from Drexel University under the mentorship of Ko Nishino. Periodically I teach Computer Vision and Computational Photography at Drexel.
When I’m not working, I enjoy photography, cooking, exercise, and fatherhood.
